However, some walkers mayfind that their step counts tend to bea bit too high, or too low. All AE1700models come with a sensitivity adjust-ment, to help account for individualdifferences. The adjustment switch hasthree positions: “+,” “-,” and center. The adjustment switch is located on thebottom of the pedometer, on the right-hand side when looking from the front.Adjustment Procedure: Take 100 steps, then check STEPS display to see howmany steps were actually counted.Repeat once to make sure results areabout the same. If the pedometer countsfewer steps than you actually walked, slide the sensitivity adjustment towardsthe “+” icon. This will increase recordedsteps by about 10%. If the pedometercounts more steps than you actuallywalked, slide the sensitivity adjustmenttowards the “-” icon. This will decreaserecorded steps by about 10%.WEARING YOUR PEDOMETERWhile gently holding the belt clip open, slide the pedometer onto your belt or thetop edge of your pants or skirt. It shouldfit snugly and level, above one knee.Note: The pedometer should be asvertical as possible. Walkers with largerstomachs may find it helpful to wear thepedometer farther back on the body, toward one hip. The cover must beclosed for the pedometer to work. Toavoid losing or dropping your pedometer, use the included leash and clip to fastenthe pedometer securely to your clothing.Attaching the Leash: Attach thepedometer to the leash by looping theleash through the pedometer leash slot.Next, loop the leash through the metalclip. Finally, clasp the waistband of yourclothing with the metal clip. You can alsouse a safety pin to fasten the leash toyour clothing, loop the leash through yourbelt or belt loop, or use a badge holder.ACCUSPLIT AE1720 Series PedometerINSTRUCTIONSACCUSPLIT, Inc. • 6120 Stoneridge Mall Rd., Suite 210 • Pleasanton, CA 94588 USA800-965-2008 • 925-226-0888 • FAX 925-463-0147 • www.ACCUSPLIT.com • support@ACCUSPLIT.comRESETTING YOUR PEDOMETERMost people prefer to reset step countsdaily.
