43Advanced settingsPutting your smartphone in Airplane modeYou can enter Airplane mode (also known as flightmode) to turn off telephone and Bluetooth functionsand use your smartphone as a handheld deviceduring a flight. Check with your airline to make surethis is permitted onboard.Switch your smartphone off during takeoff andlanding as it may interfere with aircraft electronicsystems.Turning Airplane mode on or off1. Open the Notification area.2. Tap the Airplane mode button.-OR-1. Press and hold the power button until you get thephone options menu.2.
