6You can connect up to 62 1394 devices to the AFW-4300 inalmost any configuration using either 6-to-6-pin or 6-to-4-pin1394 cables.If you have any problems while installing the AFW-4300, checkthe following items first:• Is the card seated evenly all the way into the PCI slot?• Is bus mastering support provided and enabled for the PCIslot containing the AFW-4300? (Check your motherboarddocumentation for information on this.)• Is your 1394 DV camcorder or device powered on?• Is the 1394 cable properly connected to AFW-4300 and theDV camcorder, or other 1394 device?• Checked the Windows 2000 Event Log if you encounterproblems loading the drivers on your Windows 2000operating system?• Checked the troubleshooting section of your operatingsystem user manual?• Checked the Software Tutorial and Read Me file on the CD ifyou encounter any problems with the software?• If the driver fails to load, moved the card to a different PCIslot?C ONNECTING O THER 1394 DEVICESThe AFW-4300 host adapter supports hot-plugging,allowing 1394 devices to be attached and recognized evenwhen the computer is powered on.Some peripheral manufacturers support hot-pluggingin different ways.
