SECTION 13: SERVICING35 of 55SECTION 13: SERVICING13.1 Servicing InstructionsAfter start-up, the heater will require maintenance tobe carried out, at a minimum, annually. If the heateris used in a dirty or dusty area, more frequentmaintenance may be required.IMPORTANT: Prior to any maintenance or service ofthe heater, shut off, lockout and tagout the electricaldisconnect and gas valve that supplies the unit inaccordance with OSHA regulations. After anymaintenance or repair work, always test fire theheater in accordance with the start-up instructionson Page 28, Section 11 through Page 32, Section11.7 to ensure all safety systems are in working orderbefore leaving the heater to operate. Minor faultsmay be traced by using the troubleshooting chartson Page 38, Section 14 through Page 42, Section14.5.IMPORTANT: Check all gas pipes and pipe joints toensure there are no cracks or gas leaks. Any cracksin the pipes or pipe joints must be repaired.IMPORTANT: Inspect all suspended componentsand hardware. Ensure that they are in goodcondition, properly tightened, and corrosion free.13.2 Burner Maintenance13.2.1 Burner Maintenance for Models 150-4001. Open the hinged door via tooled access andremove from the hinges. Set door aside. SeePage 44, Section 15.2.2. Remove the filler panel (10 screws) to fullyaccess the burner assembly. See Page 44,Section 15.2.1.3. Remove burner assembly from cabinet viascrews around the burner assembly (quantitywill vary). See Page 44, Section 15.2.1.Electrode and flame probe should remainattached.4. Remove manifold from burner assembly viafour screws, two on top and two on bottom. SeePage 45, Section 15.2.2. Clean any depositsfrom the main burner which may have formed inthe injectors or venturi of the burner.5. Check condition of ignition electrode and flameprobe. Clean off any deposits which may haveformed, check condition of ceramic insulators.Replace as required. See Page 46, Section15.3.13.3 Heat Exchanger MaintenanceThe heat exchanger will remain clean unless aproblem has developed with combustion. Inspect theheat exchanger. Look for signs of overheating at thefront of the tubes which may indicate burner overfiring or persistently low air flows.13.4 Gas Valve MaintenanceNo regular maintenance is required on this device.To change gas control valves, See Page 43, Section15.1.Do not repair or disassemble gas valve.Replace faulty gas valves with replacement partssold and supplied by Addison.13.5 Flue BlowerThe flue blower should not require maintenance.However, if the air pressure switch is causing burnerlockout, then remove the flue blower from the ventbox by unscrewing the screws at the mounting plate.Screw quantity will vary by model size. Remove thescrews attaching the mounting plate to the fan inlet.See Page 47, Section 15.5 through Page 48,Section 15.6.
