32 AXIS 223M - Event ConfigurationEvent ConfigurationIt is possible to define conditions that would cause the camera to respond with certainactions. For example, when an alarm goes off, the camera could respond by uploadingimages to the server. An Event type describes the conditions and the camera’s expectedresponse. When the condition happens, we call it an Event; the camera’s response iscalled an Action.A triggered event happens as a result of a trigger, which could be motion detection by thecamera for example. A scheduled event happens according to schedule, whereby an eventcould run at a scheduled time. For example, the camera could be configured to zoom in onan area during night time.This section describes how to set up event servers and event types.Event ServersEvent Servers are used to receive uploaded image files and/or notification messages. To setup Event server connections in your camera, click on the Setup link and go to EventConfiguration > Event Servers and enter information for the required server type.For details on each setting, please see the online help available from each web page.When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (theconnection test takes approximately 10 seconds).Event TypesAn Event Type describes how andwhen the camera performs certainactions.Example: If somebody passes in front of thecamera and an event that uses motion detectionhas been configured to act on this, the cameracan record and save images to an FTP server,and/or send a notification e-mail to a pre-config-ured e-mail address with a pre-configured mes-sage.
