11AXIS M7001 - Video SettingsVideo SettingsThis section describes how to configure the video encoder, and is intended for product Administrators, who have unrestrictedaccess to all the Setup tools; and Operators, who have access to the settings for Video, Live View Config, and Events. You can configure the video encoder by clicking Setup in thetop right-hand corner of the Live View page. Click onthis page to access the online help that explains the setuptools.Video StreamThe video stream settings are separated into 3 tabs:• Image• H.264• MJPEGImageImage AppearanceUse these settings to modify the image resolution and compression. Setting the compression level affects the image qualityand the amount of bandwidth required, the lower the compression, the higher the image quality and the higher the bandwidthrequirements. Enable aspect ratio correction to improve the image appearance when video from an analog camera isdisplayed on a digital screen (for example a computer monitor). The image can also be mirrored (reversed). See the online helpfiles for more information.Video StreamTo avoid bandwidth problems on the network, the frame rate allowed to each viewer can be limited. Select the Unlimitedradio button to allow the highest available frame rate or select the Limited to... radio button and enter a value (1-30) fps inthe field.Overlay SettingsUse these settings to include a text, date and time asoverlay. Click for information on available options.PreviewFor a preview of the image before saving, select a videoformat and click Open... When satisfied with thesettings, click Save.H.264GOV SettingsThe GOV structure describes the composition of theH.264 video stream which consists of 2 image forms,I-images and P-images. An I-image is a completeimage, whereas a P-image is only the differences in the image as compared with the previous image. The GOV lengthdetermines how many P-images are sent before the next complete I-image is sent. Setting the GOV-length to a higher valuesaves considerably on bandwidth but if there is congestion on the network, there may be noticeable decay in the video quality.Setting the GOV-length to a lower value increases the video quality, in this case.GOV length should not be higher than the set frame rate when using a pre-trigger buffer see Pre-trigger and post-triggerbuffers, on page 17.Text,overlaydate & time
