4 Daily useWhen you have finished setting upthe loudspeaker as described on thefollowing pages, connect the entireaudio or video system to the mains.The loudspeaker is designed to beleft in standby when not in use – sodo not switch off the power.The Adaptive Bass Control system ensuresthat the bass level suits the placement ofthe loudspeaker. Therefore, if you movethe loudspeaker to a new position, youmust perform a new calibration, asexplained in Adapt BeoLab 5 to your room(pp. 12–13).Switching on and offWhen you switch on your Bang & Olufsensystem, the loudspeaker switches onsimultaneously. The indicator light shinesgreen*, indicating that the loudspeaker isswitched on.When you switch off your Bang & Olufsensystem, the indicator light switches to red,indicating that the loudspeaker is not in use.If the loudspeaker is connected to a non-Bang &Olufsen system, refer to the next page forinformation about switching on and off, turningthe volume up and down, shifting the soundbalance, and presetting the volume level.Loudspeaker protectionThe loudspeaker is equipped with a thermalprotection system which prevents the unitsfrom overheating. Should an error occur, thesystem automatically switches the loudspeakerto standby – and the indicator light flashesred.To restore the situation:> Disconnect the loudspeaker from the mains.> Allow the system time to reset (approx. 3–5minutes).> Reconnect the loudspeaker to the mains again.Should the problem persist, contact your Bang &Olufsen retailer.Do not touch the two speaker domes. Whencleaning is required, use the enclosed brush only!CleaningClean the loudspeaker surfaces using a soft,lint-free cloth which you have wrung firmly inlukewarm water.Never use a vacuum cleaner to clean the twodomes. However, the front speaker cloth maybe cleaned with a vacuum cleaner with abrush nozzle, and set to the lowest suctionlevel.Never use alcohol or other solvents to cleanany parts of the loudspeaker.Indicator light*NOTE! If the Adaptive Bass Control system hasnot yet been calibrated, the indicator light slowlyflashes green. The calibration is explained in AdaptBeoLab 5 to your room (pp. 12–13).
