Physical InterfaceBasler scout 555.4.3 PLC I/O CableAs with the standard I/O cable described in the previous section, the PLC I/O cable is a single cablethat connects to the camera’s I/O lines. The PLC I/O cable adjusts the voltage levels of PLC devices to the voltage levels required by thecamera, and it protects the camera against negative voltage and reverse polarity.Close proximity to strong magnetic fields should be avoided.Basler offers PLC I/O cables with 3 meter and 10 meter lengths. Each cable is terminated with a12-pin Hirose plug (HR10A-10P-12S) on the end that connects to the camera. The other end isunterminated. Contact your Basler sales representative to order the cables. For information about the applicable voltage levels, see Section 5.7.1.1 on page 57.5.5 IEEE 1394b Device InformationThe camera uses an IEEE1394b - 2002 compliant physical layer device that can transmit at speedsup to 800 Mbit/s (S800). The device is backward compatible with IEEE 1394a - 2000 devices.Detailed spec sheets for IEEE 1394b - 2002 compliant physical layer devices of the type used inthe camera are available at the Texas Instruments website: www.ti.com.We recommend using a PLC I/O cable if the camera is connected to a PLC device. If power for the I/O input is supplied at 24 VDC, you can also use a PLC I/O cablewhen the camera is not connected to a PLC device.
