The Event Message Line at the top of the screendisplays “SAVED OK”.5.16 SNMP COMMUNITY NAMES SCREENThe SNMP Community Names menu item allows the user to setLocal/Remote Management community names. Community names act aspasswords to Local/Remote Management and are agents of securityaccess to the 6E12X-26 and 6E13X-25. Access to the 6E12X-26 and6E13X-25 is controlled by enacting any of three different levels ofsecurity authorization (read-only, read-write, and super-user).!CAUTIONIf the 6E12X-26 and 6E13X-25 are being bridged to an FDDIring (for example, via an HSIM-F6 installed in the 6E13X-25) IPFragmentation should be enabled. If IP Fragmentation isdisabled, all FDDI frames that exceed the maximum Ethernetframe size will be discarded.NOTEIf the 6C105 has been assigned community names, it is notnecessary to assign community names to the individualmodules installed in the chassis unless the user wishes to limitaccess to 6C105 chassis screens by assigning differentcommunity names to the module. When this is done access islimited to the screens specific to the module to which theterminal is attached and the Local Management session beginsat the Module Menu screen.Super-User access gives the user full management privileges,allows existing passwords to be changed, and all modifiableMIB objects for the Cabletron Container MIB and InternetMIB-II to be accessed.
