The CLI has several command modes, each of which provides a group ofrelated commands that you can use to configure the SSR and display its status. Somecommands are available to all users; others can be executed only after the user enters an“Enable” password.You use the CLI to configure ports, IP/IPX interfaces, routing, switching, security filtersand Quality of Service (QoS) policies.Understanding the Command Line InterfaceThe SSR Command Line Interface (CLI) provides access to several different commandmodes. Each command mode provides a group of related commands. This chapterdescribes how to access and list the commands available in each command mode andexplains the primary uses for each command mode. This chapter also describes the otherfeatures of the user interface.SSR commands can be entered at a terminal connected to the access server or router usingthe command line interface (CLI). The SSR can also be configured using the CoreWatchJava-based management application. Using CoreWatch is described in the CoreWatchUser’s Guide.Basic Line Editing CommandsThe CLI supports EMACs-like line editing commands. The following table lists somecommonly used commands.Table 2.
