Beforeremoving the engine air cleaner/filter, make sure that the engine aircleaner/filter housing and nearbycomponents are free of dirt anddebris. Remove the engine aircleaner/filter. Lightly tap and shakethe engine air cleaner/filter (awayfrom the vehicle), to release loosedust and dirt. Inspect the engine aircleaner/filter for damage, andreplace if damaged. Do not cleanthe engine air cleaner/filter orcomponents with water orcompressed air.To inspect or replace the air cleaner/filter:2.0L L4 LTG Engine Shown, 2.5LL4 LCV Engine, and 3.6L V6 LGXEngine Similar1. Remove the four screws andlift the cover out of theassembly.2. Inspect or replace the engineair cleaner/filter.3. Lower the cover and securewith the four screws.3.6L V6 LF4 Twin Turbo Engine1. Remove the six screws and liftthe cover out of the assembly.2. Inspect or replace the engineair cleaner/filters. Filters can beremoved from top cover bypushing in buttons, see arrows.3. Lower the cover and securewith the six screws.
