To stop your engine:• Move the shift lever to Park.• Press the bottom of theOFF/ACCESSORY button.If the shift lever is not in Park, theengine will stop but the vehicle willgo into accessory mode and theDriver Information Center will displaySHIFT TO PARK. Once the shift leveris moved to Park, the vehicle willturn off.REMOTE ADAPTIVE STARTThis feature allows you to start theengine from outside the vehicleusing the Keyless Access Systemtransmitter. (Normal transmitterrange is within 196 feet of thevehicle.) Depending on outsideconditions, the remote start featurecan also start the vehicle’s automaticclimate control system as well asthe heated and vented seats (ifequipped). Consult your OwnerManual to set this function.The engine will run for about 10minutes before turning itself off, butit can be extended an additional 10minutes by performing anotherremote start sequence before the first10 minutes expires, or after theengine has shut off. No additionalremote starts are allowed until thevehicle has been started with theignition key.Remote Starting the Vehicle1. Aim the key fob transmitter at thevehicle.2. Press and release on thetransmitter, then immediatelypress and hold on thetransmitter until the vehicle’sparking lamps flash, or hold thebutton for at least four seconds ifthe lights are not visible.3. When the vehicle starts, theparking lamps will illuminate andremain on while the engine isrunning.4. Repeat these steps for a 10-minutetime extension.When you enter your STS after aremote start, press the start buttonto transition to normal vehicleoperation.To manually turn off a remote start,do any of the following:• Aim the key fob transmitter at thevehicle and press and hold theremote start button until theparking lamps turn off.• Press the hazard warning flashersbutton located on the console.• Press the START/OFF/ACCESSORYbutton on and then off.S T S
