ServiceabilityTo ensure machine reliability and copies of the highest quality, CanonU.S.A., Inc. recommends that a Quality Assurance Visit be performedevery 250,000 copies. Quality Assurance requires the cleaning, checking, and replacement of parts as necessary for specific areas every 250,000copies. The frequency of the Quality Assurance Visits will depend on thefollowing conditions: monthly copy volume, environment, type of originalscopied and customer’s handling of the copier equipment.4$:83.4$833.,QVWDOODWLRQ 4$583.A QA Procedure will require the replacement of various consumable partsevery 250,000 copies.B. UpgradingThe Image Processor Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Multi-FunctionController (MFC) PCB are each equipped with Double Inline MemoryModule (DIMM), which contains Flash ROM and Firmware programmedinto each DIMM.Note:The “Original Orientation Detection PCB” is located near the IP PCB of theimageRUNNER 550/600. It is also equipped with DIMM, which storefonts, and has 72 pins. DIMMs are labeled by memory capacity andpurpose of the DIMM (mentioned on it) to distinguish the differencebetween these DIMMs and the DIMM for the Original OrientationDetection PCB.A Personal Computer is required when installing upgraded firmware. UseBicentronics I/F cable7 as an interface between the personal computer andthe imageRUNNER 550/600 to enable high-speed transmission of thedata. The required time to complete the upgrade is approximately tenminutes.7 The following Bicentronics I/F cable is required: One end of the cable should have a TYPE A connector prescribedby IEEE1284 (25 pin, for PC connection). The other end should have a TYPE B connector (38 pin, for copierconnection). Cables conforming to the IEEE1284 are marked “IEEE Std. 1284 compliant”.
