Sincerecordings made on a DVD-R or DVD-RDL disc cannot be deleted, we recommendyou use a DVD-RW disc to make the testrecord ngs.(E_ 12)1 Move the power switch to ON to setthe camcorder in CAMERA mode.The red CAMERA indicator will turnon.2 Move the lens cover switch down to_ to open the lens cover.3 Move the %_,/O switch to the ),_,(Movies) position.4 Press _ to begin recording.• The recording starts; pressagain to pause the recording.• The DISC access indicator will flashwhile recording and will stay on brieflyafter pausing while the scene isrecorded on the disc.WHEN YOUHAVEFINISHEDRECORDING1 Make sure that the DISC access lampis off.2 Turn off the camcorder,3 Close the lens cover and the LCDpanel.4 Remove the disc.Avoid the following actions while the DISCaccess indicator is on or flashing. Failing to doso may result in permanent data loss.- Do not subject the camcorder to vibrations orstrong impacts.- Do not open the disc cover and do not removethe disc.- Do not disconnect the power source or turn offthe camcorder.- Do not change the operating mode.• Aboutthe recordingtime: By changing therecording mode you can change the recordingtime available on the disc (_/2 36).• When recording in bright places it may bedifficult to use the LCD screen. In such case,use the viewfinder instead.• When recording in very loud places (such asfireworks shows or concerts), sound maybecome distorted or it may not be recorded atthe actual levels. This is not a malfunction.• About the PowerSave mode: To save powerwhen the camcorder is powered by a batterypack, the camcorder will automatically shut off iflef_ without any operations for 5 minutes(_ 41). To restore the power, slide the powerswitch toward MODE and release it, or movethe power switch to _ and back to ONagain.• About the LCDand viewfinder screen: Thescreens are produced using extremely high-precision manufacturing techniques, with morethan 99.99% of the pixels operating tospecification. Less than 9.01% of the pixelsmay occasionally misfire or appear as black,red, blue or green dots. This has no effect onthe recorded image and does not constitute amalfunction.
