Preparations • 25• Retract the grip belt under thecamcorder so it will not get in theway of the disc cover.• It may take a moment after slidingfor the disc cover to open.2 Grab the edge of the disc andgently pull it out.Be careful not to touch the recordingsurface of the disc or the pick uplens.3 Close the disc cover.IMPORTANTWhen you slide after making arecording, important file allocation data isupdated on the disc before the disc coveropens. While the DISC access indicator ison or flashing do not subject thecamcorder to shocks such as forcefullylaying it on a table.Inserting and Removing a Memory CardYou can use commercially availableSDHC (SD High Capacity)memory cards, SD memorycards or MultiMedia Cards (MMC) withthis camcorder.1 Turn off the camcorder.2 Open the memory card slot cover.3 Insert the memory card straight allthe way into the memory card slot.4 Close the cover.Do not force the cover closed if thememory card is not correctly inserted.First push the memory card onceto release it, and then pull the cardout.IMPORTANT• Make sure to initialize all memory cardsbefore using them with this camcorder( 56).• Memory cards have front and backsides that are not interchangeable.Inserting a memory card facing thewrong direction can cause a malfunctionof the camcorder.NOTES• Compatibility with all SD, SDHC orMMC memory cards cannot beguaranteed.• About SDHC Memory Cards: SDHC is thenew type of SD memory card withcapacities over 2 GB.
