26 • VideoVideoThis chapter covers functions related to shooting and playing backmovies - from basic recording and zooming to more advanced manualpicture adjustments.Basic RecordingShooting Video1 Move the / switch to(movies).2 Turn the switch to ON to setthe camcorder in CAMERA mode.The red CAMERA indicator will turnon.3 Move the lens cover switch downto to open the lens cover.4 Press to begin recording.• The recording starts; pressagain to pause therecording.• The DISC access indicator will flashwhile recording and will stay onbriefly after pausing while thescene is recorded on the disc.1 Make sure that the DISC accessindicator is off.2 Turn off the camcorder.3 Close the lens cover and the LCDpanel.4 Remove the disc.IMPORTANT• When recording movies, try to get a calm,stable picture.Excessive camcorder movement whileshooting and extensive use of fastzooms and panning can result in jitteryscenes. In extreme cases, the playbackof such scenes may result in visuallyinduced motion sickness.
