140Peripheral light fall-off is a phenomenon that makes the image cornerslook darker due to the lens characteristics. Color fringing along subjectoutlines is called chromatic aberration. And image distortion due to lenscharacteristics is called distortion. These lens aberrations and light fall-off can be corrected. By default, Peripheral illumination and Chromaticaberration correction are set to [Enable], and Distortion correction is setto [Disable].If [Cannot correct - no data] is displayed, see “Lens Correction Data”on page 142.1 Select [Lens aberrationcorrection].Under the [z1] tab, select [Lensaberration correction], then press<0>.2 Select the setting.Check that [Correction dataavailable] is displayed for theattached lens.Select [Peripheral illumin.], thenpress <0>.Select [Enable], then press <0>.3 Take the picture. The image will be recorded with theperipheral illumination corrected.3 Correction of Lens Peripheral Illumination and AberrationsPeripheral Illumination CorrectionDepending on shooting conditions, noise may appear on the imageperiphery. The correction amount applied will be lower than the maximum correctionamount settable with Digital Photo Professional (EOS software, p.405).The higher the ISO speed, the lower the correction amount will be.
