31Initializing the Built-In Memory ( /only) or Memory CardInitialize memory cards when you usethem with this camcorder for the firsttime. You can also initialize a memorycard or the built-in memory ( /only) to permanently delete all thedata it contains./ At the time of purchase,the built-in memory comes pre-initializedand contains music files that can beused as background music duringplayback.Options/[ MENU][ MEMORY OPER.][INITIALIZE] The memory youwant to initializeInitialization method[YES]* [OK][ MENU][ MEMORY OPER.][INITIALIZE]Initialization method[YES]* [OK]* Press to cancel the completeinitialization while it is in progress. Allrecordings will be erased but the recordingmedia can be used without any problem.IMPORTANT• Initializing the memory will permanentlyerase all data. Lost original recordingscannot be recovered. Make sure yousave important recordings in advanceusing an external device ( 72).• When the memory is initialized, musicfiles will also be erased.- Windows users: Use the suppliedsoftware Music Transfer Utility totransfer the music files on the suppliedInstruction Manual/Music Data DiscCD-ROM.
