To have the lens retractedimmediately after you press the <1> button, set the retraction timing to[0 sec.].zz Choose [Lens Retract], and then choose[0 sec.].Using Eco ModeThis function allows you to conserve battery power in Shooting mode. Whenthe camera is not in use, the screen quickly darkens to reduce batteryconsumption.1 Configure the setting.zz Choose [Eco Mode], and then choose[On].zz [ ] is now shown on the shootingscreen (=165).zz The screen darkens when the camerais not used for approximately twoseconds; approximately ten secondsafter darkening, the screen turns off.The camera turns off after approximatelythree minutes of inactivity.2 Shoot.zz To activate the screen and prepare forshooting when the screen is off but thelens is still out, press the shutter buttonhalfway.Power-Saving AdjustmentAdjust the timing of automatic camera and screen deactivation (Auto PowerDown and Display Off, respectively) as needed (=21).zz Choose [Power Saving], and then pressthe <m> button.zz After choosing an item, press the<q><r> buttons to adjust it as needed.• To conserve battery power, you should normally choose [On] for[Auto Power Down] and [1 min.] or less for [Display Off].• The [Display Off] setting is applied even if you set [Auto Power Down] to [Off].• These power-saving functions are not available when you have set Eco mode(=135) to [On].
