Before formatting, copyimages on the memory card to a computer, or take other steps to backthem up.An Eye-Fi card (= 117) contains software on the card itself. Beforeformatting an Eye-Fi card, install the software on a computer.1 Access the [Format] screen.● Choose [Format], and then press the [ ]button.2 Choose [OK].● Press the [ ][ ] buttons to choose[Cancel], press the [ ][ ] buttons tochoose [OK], and then press the [ ]button.3 Format the memory card.● To begin the formatting process, pressthe [ ][ ] buttons to choose [OK], andthen press the [ ] button.● When formatting is finished, [Memorycard formatting complete] is displayed.Press the [ ] button.● Formatting or erasing data on a memory card only changes filemanagement information on the card and does not erase the datacompletely. When transferring or disposing of memory cards,take steps to protect personal information if necessary, as byphysically destroying cards.Screen BrightnessAdjust screen brightness as follows.● Choose [LCD Brightness], and thenpress the [ ][ ] buttons to adjust thebrightness.● For maximum brightness, press and hold the [ ] button for atleast one second when the shooting screen is displayed or whenin single-image display. (This will override the [LCD Brightness]setting on the [ ] tab.) To restore the original brightness, pressand hold the [ ] button again for at least one second or restartthe camera.Hiding the Start-Up ScreenIf you prefer, you can deactivate display of the start-up screen normallyshown when you turn the camera on.● Choose [Start-up Image], and thenchoose [Off].
