Two-Sided Copying (Two-Sided) 1-751Basic CopyingTwo-Sided Copying (Two-Sided)This mode enables you to make two-sided copies from one-sided originals or makeone-sided copies from two-sided originals.IMPORTANT• When the machine is operating in the Two-sided mode, you cannot use the Two-pageSeparation, Image Combination, Image Separation, Booklet, or TransparencyInterleaving modes.• When the machine is operating in the Book 2-Sided mode, you cannot use the SaddleStitch, Cover/Sheet Insertion, Different Size Originals, Binding Erase, or Image Repeatmodes, in addition to the modes mentioned above.• Nonstandard paper sizes cannot be used to make two-sided copies.NOTE• When copying in the Two-sided mode, align the top edge of the original with the backedge of the platen glass (by the arrow in the top left corner), or with the back edge of thefeeder.• The Two-sided mode that you have selected is displayed above [Two-sided] on the CopyBasic Features screen.• Paper used to make two-sided copies must conform to the following specifications:- Paper size: 11" x 17", LGL, LTR, LTRR, STMTR, or EXEC (Envelopes cannot beprinted on both sides.)- Paper weight: 17 lb bond to 20 lb index (64 g/m2 to 80 g/m2)• When combined with the Different Size Originals mode, two-sided copying cannot beperformed. The differently sized originals are printed as one-sided copies to theirrespective sizes of paper. If you want to make copies on both sides of the paper withdifferently sized originals, make sure to select the paper size you want to print on beforeprinting. (See “Selecting the Copy Paper Size (Paper Select),” on p. 1-27.)• There are some types of paper which may meet the above specifications, but cannot beused to make two-sided copies. Making Two-Sided Copies from One-Sided Originals (1 2-Sided)This feature enables you to make two-sided copies from one-sided originals. Making Two-Sided Copies from Two-Sided Originals (2 2-Sided)This feature automatically turns over two-sided originals that are placed in the feeder tomake two-sided copies. Making One-Sided Copies from Two-Sided Originals (2 1-Sided)This feature automatically turns over two-sided originals that are placed in the feeder tomake one-sided copies.
