The ejectselection lever is used to switch them.The eject selection lever is connecteddirectly to the flapper.The difference is shown in the followingdiagram.Figure 2-3056) SensorThe document sensor is mounted on thefeed slot, and the registration sensor ismounted behind the registration roller.The ultrasonic sensor for double feeddetection is mounted in front of theregistration roller.2. Feed Error Detection1) Paper Jam DetectionPaper jams are detected by theregistration sensor. The types of thedocument jams are described as follows.a) Pickup Delay Jam (Pickup Error)The leading edge of the documentwas not detected by the registrationsensor within the specified time afterthe machine starts scanning.a. U-turn pathb) Early Reach JamThe leading edge of the followingdocument was detected after thetrailing edge of the document wasdetected by the registration sensorbefore the document has been fed fora specified length.c) Residual JamThe trailing edge of the documentwas not detected even though thedocument has been fed for themaximum specified length after theleading edge of the document wasdetected by the registration sensor.d) Fast Feed JamThe trailing edge of the documentwas detected after the leading edgeof the document was detected by theregistration sensor before thedocument has been fed for theminimum specified length.e) Non-removal JamThe machine starts scanning whilethe document is detected by theregistration sensor and still remainsinside this machine.Eject selection lever Flapperb.
