CHAPTER 2 FUNCTIONS & OPERATIONV. POWER SUPPLY1. Power SupplyThe machine uses an AC adapter for itspower supply. Its rated input voltage is100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz and whose outputis 16 VDC. Use the AC adapter bundledwith this machine. The power output fromthe AC adapter is input to the control PCB.In case of excess voltage or currentapplied to the AC adapter output, the safetysystem cuts the power. In this case, unplugthe AC plug. After removing the cause, plugit back. The power switch for the machine ismounted on the front unit PCB. When theswitch is turned on, a DC/DC converteractivates to generate each of the DCvoltages and supply power to each of thecomponents. When no documents have been fed orthere has been no communication via thisUSB I/F for an extended period of time, themachine enters the sleep mode (EnergyStar mode). When the machine is in thesleep mode, the electrical circuits enter asleeping state. However, the CPU does notenter a sleeping state. This machineautomatically returns from the sleep modewhen it receives communication from acomputer or when a key on the operationpanel is pressed. If the power supplied from the USBinterface is disconnected, such as if theUSB cable is disconnected or the computeris turned off, the machine turns off. Thepower also turns off if the machine does notperform any operations for a long period oftime (4 hours).PowerswitchControl PCBDC/DCconverterEach DCvoltageAC adapterFigure 2-501COPYRIGHT © CANON ELECTRONICS INC. 2011 CANON DR-C125 FIRST EDITION 2-17
