40Scanning SideSpecify whether to scan only one side of a document or both sides.If you select [Skip blank page] and a blank page is detected within thedocument during scanning, the blank page will be skipped. The driversettings are used for the density threshold at which blank pages areskipped.DeskewWhen a document is scanned slanted, the slant is detected and thescanned images are straightened.Text orientation recognitionThe orientation of text in scanned images is detected, and the imagesare rotated to match the orientation of the text.Use advanced settings dialog boxFor the advanced scanner condition settings (other than the basicitems), open the advanced settings dialog box and configure thesettings. To open the advanced settings dialog box, select the [Useadvanced settings dialog box] check box and click the [Open] button.For details on setting items, see the Help in the scanner driveradvanced settings dialog box.HintThe scanner driver’s advanced settings dialog box includes thesame setting items as the basic items in the [Scanner setting] dialogbox, but the configuration for each of the settings is storedseparately. Which settings are used during scanning differs asfollows depending on the setting of the [Use advanced settingsdialog box] check box.IMPORTANTIf you configure scanning conditions that require a large amount ofthe computer’s memory, scanning may be disabled.
