14PreparationStep 1: Preparing the Power SupplyThe camcorder can be powered by a battery pack or be connected to a household powersource. Charge the battery pack before use.Attaching the Battery Pack1. Turn the power switch to OFF.2. Slide the OPEN button towards thecamcorder and open the LCDpanel.3. Attach the battery pack to thecamcorder.• Remove the terminal cover of thebattery pack.• Slide in the connector end of the batteryin the direction of the arrow and press itgently until it clicks.To remove the battery pack:1. Slide the OPEN button towards thecamcorder and open the LCDpanel.2. Hold down the BATTERY RELEASE button and pull out the batteryfrom the ridge on its bottom part.Charging the Battery Pack1. Connect the power cord to theadapter.2. Plug the power cord into a poweroutlet.3. Open the front terminal cover andconnect the power adapter to thecamcorder’s DC IN terminal.The charge indicator starts flashing. Itglows steadily when charging is complete.To remove the power adapter:1. Disconnect the power adapterfrom the camcorder.2. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet.3.
