CAPINTEC, INC CAPTUS® 2000Once the patient demographic information has been entered, the testing information must beentered under the Dose Data column. Enter the lot number and activity of the Co57 andCo58 labeled Vitamin B-12 capsules to be given to the patient. Next enter the total volumeof the urine collected over the test period. The aliquot volume is the volume used for thesamples counted in the well counter, and should not exceed the useful counting dimensionsof the well. A sample volume of 4 ml is a good sample volume for the well detector providedwith the CAPTUS® 2000 system. The aliquot volume must be the same for both the patient’ssample and the standard solution sample.Enter the counting time in seconds. Counting time should be sufficiently long to allow 10,000cumulative counts. 300 seconds is usually sufficient for adequate counts of even low activityurine samples. Enter the number of repetitions required. The samples may be counted forone or two repetitions. When two repetitions are chosen, each of the counting sequencescreens described below will appear twice. Each sample count will be labeled with theappropriate sample name, and Count #1 or Count #2. The counts will be averaged for eachsample. Enter the Tech ID in any combination of up to 8 alphanumeric characters.A comment section is available for free text input of up to 8,000 characters. Any informationentered into the comment section will appear on the printed report. The INSERTCOMMENTS FILE button enables the user to copy a previously stored .txt file. A .txt file iscreated by using Notepad from the Windows® accessory screen. Select Notepad by clickingon the Notepad Icon. Type in the desired text or create a form, and save. Notepadautomatically saves files as .txt. This feature provides the user with the ability to create astandard diagnosis report form or results text and incorporate it into the DICOPAC Test resultreport.Once all of the required information has been entered in the Patient Library screen, exit thescreen by selecting the DONE button. The information which has been entered will be savedto the DICOPAC Test database file. Note that the software requires the entry of all nonoptional fields before exiting through the DONE button. To exit the screen without savingany information, choose the CANCEL button.Editing Patient InformationIf you wish to review or edit any information which has already been entered on a patient,first select the desired patient from the Patient Directory list on the main DICOPAC Testscreen, then choose the EDIT button. The patient information will be retrieved from thepatient library, and displayed on the screen. Note that the ID appears in blue, and cannot bechanged. If the ID has been entered incorrectly, you must delete the patient, and re-enterunder the correct ID. After any changes have been made, select the DONE button to savethe changed information. CANCEL will exit the screen without saving changes made to thepatient library screen. Since each ID must be unique to insure that results are always storedin the correct file, to save different DICOPAC Tests on the same patient requires an IDextension. Using either A, B, C, or 1,2,3, is a convenient way to tag the ID for eachsubsequent test.For example, if a patient is required to have a repeat DICOPAC Test performed six monthslater, and you wish to save all of the patient results concurrently, label the patient ID (for8-16 LAB TESTS July 00
