The system will continue to accumulate patient dataindefinitely. This will eventually result in a very long library list to sort. A recommendedprocedure is to periodically (annually or semiannually) archive the patient data for reference,and then delete all data from the RBC Survival Test library. Alternatively, if you do not needto archive patient results, print a hard copy report for each patient and then delete all nonactive patients annually.Making MeasurementsAfter the counting protocol has been defined, and patient information entered, begin themeasurement process by choosing the COUNT button. The RBC Survival Test DataAcquisition screen will appear, as shown in Figure 8-52. To exit the Data Acquisition screenat any time choose the EXIT button. To begin counting, choose the START PROCEDUREbutton. Note the Go To MCA command located at the top of the RBC Survival DataAcquisition screen. This features provides a direct link to the complete MCA program withoutexiting from the RBC Survival module. Use this feature to check the isotope identification ofa source, verify a region of interest, check a patient for previously administered isotopes, orany other MCA use.A sequence of screens will appear and prompt you through the correct measurementsequence. As the measurement process begins and counts are acquired, the live spectrawill be displayed on the screen. The ROI selected will be highlighted in red to easily verifythat it is correct.
