Determine total transformerloading and increase the transformer capacity or split the loadwith an accessory transformer as required.FINAL WIRING CHECKIMPORTANT: Check factory wiring and field wire connectionsto ensure terminations are secured properly. Check wire routingto ensure wires are not in contact with tubing, sheet metal, etc.STEP 8. —Compressor Crankcase HeaterWhen equipped with a crankcase heater, furnish power to heater aminimum of 24 hr before starting unit. To furnish power to heateronly, set thermostat to OFF and close electrical disconnect tooutdoor unit.A crankcase heater is required if refrigerant tubing is longer than80 ft. Refer to the Longline Guideline Section -- ResidentialSplit--System Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps Using PuronrRefrigerant.STEP 9. —Install Electrical AccessoriesRefer to the individual instructions packaged with kits oraccessories when installing.STEP 10. —Start--UpCAUTION!UNIT OPERATION AND SAFETY HAZARDFailure to follow this caution may result in minor personalinjury, equipment damage or improper operation. To prevent compressor damage or personal injury, observe thefollowing:S Do not overcharge system with refrigerant.S Do not operate unit in a vacuum or at negative pressure.S Do not disable low pressure switch in scroll compressorapplications.S Dome temperatures may be hot.CAUTION!PERSONAL INJURY HAZARDFailure to follow this caution may result in personalinjury.Wear safety glasses, protective clothing, and gloves whenhandling refrigerant and observe the following:S Front seating service valves are equipped with Schradervalves.CAUTION!ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDFailure to follow this caution may result in environmentaldamage.Federal regulations require that you do not ventrefrigerant to the atmosphere. Recover during systemrepair or final unit disposal.Follow these steps to properly start up the system:1. After system is evacuated, fully open liquid and vaporservice valves.2. Unit is shipped with valve stem(s) front seated (closed)and caps installed. Replace stem caps after system isopened to refrigerant flow. Replace caps finger--tight andtighten with wrench an additional 1/12 turn.3. Close electrical disconnects to energize system.4. Set room thermostat at desired temperature. Be sure setpoint is below indoor ambient temperature.5. Set room thermostat to COOL and fan control to ON orAUTO mode, as desired. Operate unit for 15 minutes.Check system refrigerant charge.24ACA
