7REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONSThe remote control is the interface between the user and thehigh--wall systems. Commands are entered by the user to controlthe system. Any command that has been entered with the remotecontrol will remain in the memory until it is changed by the useror the batteries are replaced.NOTE: When entering commands, point the remote control inthe direction of the LED display on the front panel. The OPERwill appear for a short period of time on the remote controlwhen the command is entered. The unit will only emit anaudible beep when the signals are received correctly.ON/OFF:Press this button to turn unit on and off.MODE:Each time this button is pressed, a mode is selected in a sequencethat goes from AUTO, COOL, DRY, FAN and HEAT*, as shownbelow:COOL DRY FAN HEAT*AUTONOTE: *Only models with heating function.AUTO mode is the default setting at start--up. In AUTO mode, theset temperature will not e displayed on the LCD, and the unit willautomatically select the suitable operation mode to provide comfortbased on parameters set from the factory.—:Press this button once to decrease the setpoint by 1_F. If the buttonis pressed for more than two seconds, the setpoint decreases rapidlyin increments of 1_F. In AUTO mode, set temperature is notadjustable.+ :Press this button to increase the setpoint by 1_F. If the button ispressed for more than two seconds, the setpoint increases rapidlyin increments of 1_F. In AUTO mode, set temperature is notadjustable.FAN:This button is used to set the fan speed in the following sequenceFan Speeds: Low Medium High:The horizontal swing button can be used to have the louvers swingcontinuously, or to move the louvers to a predetermined position.To move the louvers continuously:S Press button to start the swing function. Pressagain to stop the swing function.To move the louvers to a predetermined position:S Press + button and button at the same time while theunit is off. The will blink for two seconds.S Now, pressing the button changes the horizontallouvers to positions shown below.HEALTH|SAVE:HEALTH is not available, SAVE is available on unit sizes 18K and24K.When SAVE (right--hand side of button) is pressed, SE is displayedand the unit goes into SAVE operation mode (set point defaults to80_F/27_C). Press SAVE button again to cancel function. DuringSAVE operation, the temperature and fan speed is not adjustable.X--FAN:Pressing X--FAN button in COOL or DRY mode will activate theDRY function and the X--FAN icon will be displayed. When thisfunction is activated, the indoor fan will continue to run for 10minutes in order to dry the indoor coil after the unit is turned off.X--FAN is not available in AUTO, FAN and HEAT mode.TEMP:The unit will display the set point temperature. Pressing the TEMPbutton once will display the room temperature (measured by returnair sensor). After 5 seconds, the set point will be displayed again.TIMER:This function will allow the user to set the unit to run for a numberof hours and be off for a number of hours, on a continuous basis.The time OFF and ON can be set from 0.5 hours to 24 hours inhalf hour increments, within a one minute accuracy.Setting the Timer ON Time: With the remote control andsystem OFF, press the “TIMER” button. Within 5 seconds, use the“+” and “--” buttons to set the TIMER ON hours. The range ofhours is from 0.5 to 24 hours, in half hour increments. Press the“TIMER” button again to save the setting.Setting the Timer OFF Time: With the remote control andsystem ON, press the “TIMER” button within 5 seconds, use the“+” and “--” button to set the Timer OFF hours. The range of hoursis 0.5 to 24 hours, in half hour increments. Press the “TIMER”button again to save the setting.NOTE:1. Once the Time ON time is set to a number of hours, andthe Time OFF time is set to a number of hours, the systemwill operate on and off at those set times. It will continueuntil the hours ON and OFF are changed or the timer func-tion is turned OFF.2. To Turn OFF timer function, simply press the “TIMER”button again, clearing the timer function from the remotecontrol display.TURBO:Press this button to activate/deactivate the TURBO function. TheTURBO function enables the unit to reach the set temperaturequicker by running at higher fan speeds.SLEEP MODE:This mode is used to conserve energy and can be used when theunit is in the COOL, HEAT or DRY mode only.In Cool Mode: Push the SLEEP button. After 1 hour, the setpoint will be raised by 1.8_F (1_C). After another hour, the setpoint will be raised by another 1.8_F (1_C) and the fan will runin low speed.The SLEEP mode will be cancelled when the SLEEP button ispushed again.In Heat Mode: Same as cooling mode but set points will belowered by 1.8_F (1_C) and the HEAT icon will disappear fromthe display panel.LIGHT:This function will allow the user to turn the display ON or OFFon the front panel.Press the light icon to turn the indoor unit front panel ON orOFF. The remote control will display the Light Icon .Combination of “+” and “--” Buttons:Press “+” and “--” buttons simultaneously to lock or unlock thekeypad. If the remote control is locked, is displayed. In thiscase, pressing any button, blinks three times to acknowledgethe keypad is unlocked. |
