2. Remove horizontal duct covers to access bottom return andsupply knock out panels.3. Use a screwdriver and hammer to remove the panels in thebottom of the base pan.NOTE: These panels are held in place with tabs similar to anelectrical knockout.4. Reinstall horizontal duct covers (Fig. 10) to block off thehorizontal air openings.NOTE: Avoid abrupt duct size increases and reductions. Abruptchange in duct size adversely affects air performance.Step 6—Provide for Condensate DisposalNOTE: Ensure that condensate-water disposal methods complywith local codes, restrictions, and practices. The 50JZ units dispose of condensate through a 3/4 -in. NPTfemale fitting that exits on the compressor end of the unit.Condensate water can be drained directly onto the roof in rooftopinstallations (where permitted) or onto a gravel apron in groundlevel installations. Install a field-supplied condensate trap at end ofTable 1—Physical Data—Unit 50JZUNIT SIZE 024 030 036 042 048 060NOMINAL CAPACITY (ton) 2 2 1/2 3 3-1/2 4 5OPERATING WEIGHT (lb) 299 320 328 350 355 428COMPRESSOR QUANTITY 1 1 1 1 1 1TYPE SCROLL COMPRESSORREFRIGERANT R-410AREFRIGERANT METERING DEVICE AccuRater®Refrigerant (R-410A) Quantity (lb.) 7.0 8.9 9.3 9.5 10.6 12.4ORIFICE ID (in.) 0.061 0.061 0.067 0.073 0.076 0.088ORIFICE OD (in.) 2@0.032 2@0.040 2@0.040 2@0.038 2@0.046 2@0.052OUTDOOR COILRows...Fins/in.Face Area (sq ft)2...178.52...1710.32...1710.32...1713.52...1713.52...1715.4OUTDOOR FANNominal Airflow (CFM)DiameterMotor HP (RPM)2350221/8 (825)2350221/8 (825)2800221/4 (1100)2500221/8 (825)3300221/4 (1100)3300221/4 (1100)INDOOR COILRows...Fins/in.Face Area (Sq Ft)3...153.73...153.74...153.73..154.74...154.74...155.7INDOOR BLOWERNominal Airflow (CFM)Size (in.)Motor (HP)80010x101/4100010x101/4120010x101/2140011x101/2160011x101/2175011x101HIGH-PRESSURE SWITCH (psig)CutoutReset (Auto)610 ± 15420 ± 25LOSS-OF-CHARGE/LOW-PRESSURE SWITCH(Liquid Line) (psig)CutoutReset (Auto)20 ± 545 ± 10RETURN-AIR FILTERS (in.)*Throwaway 20x20x1 20x20x1 20x24x1 24x30x1 24x30x1 24x30x1* Required filter sizes shown are based on the larger of the ARI (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute) rated cooling airflow or the heating airflow velocity of 300ft/minute for throwaway type or 450 ft/minute for high-capacity type.
