14What If !InstallationFault Code TableIn case of system failure, the alarm icon ( ) will light up.Failures are identified by a fault code.Active fault codes will be displayed in sequence, with achange rate of 1 second.Refer to the main unit documentation for a description ofthe fault codes.Safety considerationRead and follow manufacturer instructions carefully. Followall local electrical codes during installation. All wiring mustconform to local and national electrical codes.Improper wiring or installation may damage the NUI.Understand the signal words DANGER, WARNING, andCAUTION. These words are used with the safety--alertsymbol. DANGER identifies the most serious hazards whichwill result in severe personal injury or death. WARNINGsignifies a hazard which could result in personal injury ordeath. CAUTION is used to identify unsafe practices whichmay result in minor personal injury or product and propertydamage.NOTE is used to highlight suggestions which will result inenhanced installation, reliability, or operation.PowerThe NUI will be powered with 12V unregulated DC Voltage. This power is supplied to the User Interface by the unit towhich is connected.Step 1 — User Interface LocationApproximately 5 ft (1.5m) from floor.tClose to or in a frequently used room, preferably on antinside partitioning wall.On a section of wall without pipes or duct work.tUser Interface should NOT be mounted.Close to a window, on an outside wall, or next to a lidtleading to the outside.Exposed to direct light or heat from the sun, a lamp, tfireplace, or other temperature--radiating objectswhich could cause a false reading.Close to or in direct airflow from supply registers andtreturn--air registers. In areas with poor air circulation, such as behind a lidtor in an alcove.Turn OFF all power to unit.1.If an existing User Interface is being replaced:2.Remove existing User Interface from wall.tDisconnect wires from existing User Interface, tone at a time.As each wire is disconnected, record wiretcolor and terminal marking.Open the NUI (mounting base) to expose mounting3.holes. The base can be removed to simplify mounting.Press the thumb release at the top of the NUI andsnap apart carefully to separate mounting base fromremainder of the NUI.Route the NUI wires through large hole in mounting4.base. Level mounting base against wall and mark wallthrough 2 mounting holes. See Fig. 1.WarningELECTRICAL OPERATION HAZARDFailure to follow this warning could result in personalinjury or death. Before installing User Interface, turn off all power toequipment. There may be more than one power to disconnect.Step 2 — Install User InterfaceEnglish
