– 13 –4-way Air Discharge Cassette Type Installation Manual5 DRAIN PIPING WORKCAUTION• Following the Installation Manual, perform thedrain piping work so that water is properlydrained, and apply a heat insulation so as not tocause a dew droping.Inappropriate piping work may result in waterleakage in the room and wet of furniture. Piping/Heat insulating materialRequire the following materials for piping and heatinsulating at site. Flexible hoseUse the attached flexible hose to adjust centerdiscrepancy of the hard vinyl chloride pipe or to adjustthe angle.• Do not use the flexible hose as stretched, or do notdeform it more extent than that in the following figure.• Be sure to fix the soft end of the flexible hose with theattached hose band.• Use the flexible hose on a horizontal level.REQUIREMENT• Be sure to perform heat insulation of the drain pipesof the indoor unit.• Never forget to perform heat insulation of the connectingpart with the indoor unit.An incomplete heat insulation causes dew droping.• Set the drain pipe with downward slope (1/100 ormore), and do not make swelling or trap on thepiping. It may cause an abnormal sound.• For length of the traversing drain pipe, restrict to65’7” (20 m) or less.In case of a long pipe, provide support brackets withinterval of 4’11” - 6’7” (1.5 - 2 m) in order to preventwaving.• Set the collective piping as shown in the belowfigure.• Be sure not to apply force to the connecting part ofthe drain pipe.• The hard vinyl-chloride pipe cannot be directlyconnected to the drain pipe connecting port of theindoor unit. For connection with the drain pipe connecting port,be sure to use/fix the attached flexible hose with thehose band, otherwise a damage or water leak iscaused on the drain pipe connecting port.Piping Hard vinyl chloride pipe VP25(Outer dia. : Ø1.3" (32 mm))Heat insulator Foam polyethylene :Thickness 0.4" (10 mm) or moremax45°Riser (Trap)90° Bendmax45°OK NO GOODSupportbracket1/100 or moredownwardHeat insulator4’11” - 6’7” (1.5 - 2 m)ArchedshapeTrapNOGOODVP25As long as possible (3.9” (100 mm))Downward slope1/100 or moreVP30 or moreVP25 VP25Drain pipeconnecting port(Transparent)Adhesive inhibited :Use the attached flexible hose and hose band forconnecting the drain hose to the clear drain socket. If applying the adhesive, socket will be damaged andcause water leakage.Align the attached hose band tothe end of hose, set thetightening position upward, andthen tighten it.Flexible hose(Accessory)Socket for VP25 vinyl chloride pipe(To be local procure)Drain pipeconnecting port(Hard socket)VP25 vinyl chloride pipe(To be local procure)Attached hosebandAttached flexible hoseSoft socketHard socketSocket for VP25(To be local procure)VP25 vinyl chloridepipe (To be localprocure)Indoor unitIndoor unit13-EN
