FURNACE MAY NOT OPERATEFailure to follow this caution may result in furnace operationstopping and water pipes freezing during cold weather.Furnace control must be grounded for proper operation orcontrol will lock out. Control is grounded throughgreen/yellow wire connected to gas valve and burner boxscrew.115–V WIRINGBefore proceeding with electrical connections, make certain thatvoltage, frequency, and phase correspond to that specified onfurnace rating plate. Also, check to be sure that service providedby power supply is sufficient to handle load imposed by thisequipment. Refer to rating plate or Table 6 for equipment electricalspecifications. The furnace must be electrically grounded in accordance with localcodes; or in the absence of local codes, with the National ElectricCode ANSI/NFPA 70 and/or the Canadian Electric Code, CSAC22.1, Part I, if an external electrical source is utilized.Use a separate, branch electrical circuit containing a properly sizedfuse or circuit breaker for this furnace. See Table 6 for wire sizeand fuse specifications. A disconnecting means must be locatedwithin sight from and readily accessible to furnace.NOTE: Proper polarity and proper grounding must be maintainedfor 115-v wiring. If polarity is incorrect, control LED statusindicator will flash rapidly and furnace will NOT operate.Fig. 30—Typical Gas Pipe ArrangementA05057COMBUSTION-AIR PIPE GROMMETSGAS LINE GROMMETGAS LINECOMBUSTION-AIR PIPEVENT PIPEVENT PIPE GROMMETUNUSED 1/2 -IN.DIAMETER GASCONN.
