Basic OperationsE-18Basic OperationsThis section provides information on performing basic pianooperations.1. Press the POWER button to turn on the piano.2. Use the MAIN VOLUME knob to set the volumeto a relatively low level.3. Play something on the keyboard.The built-in tones are divided among 6 groups, with eachgroup assigned to a TONE button on the control panel.1. See the “Tone List” at the back of this manual(page A-1) for information about the TONEbutton names for each of the built-in tones.2. Press the TONE button of the tone you want toselect. This causes the button’s indicator lamp to light,and displays the tone that is currently selected forthat button.Example:To select “Bright Piano”, first press the PIANObutton.1 Tone Group2 Tone Name3. Use the [ ]/[ ] buttons to select the tone youwant.Example:For this example, press [ ] button four times. You can also change the tone setting by rotatingthe selector dial. The display exits the tone setting screen if you donot perform any operation for about 10 seconds.You can also exit the tone setting screen bypressing the EXIT/NO button. The GRAND PIANO tone was recorded using stereosampling. When one of the drum sets is selected (tone numbers 261through 270), each keyboard key is assigned a differentpercussion sound.
