Before proceeding with the steps listedbelow, determine the navigation system’s four communications parameters:number of data bits, baud rate, number of stop bits, and parity.7. Select the number of data bits from the Data Bits drop-down list box.8. Select the baud rate from the Baud Rate drop-down list box.9. Select the number of stop bits from the Stop Bits drop-down list box.10. Select the parity from the Parity drop-down list box.11. Click OK to close the Comm Setup dialog box and save the settings.12. In the Setup dialog box click OK to close the Setup dialog box and savethe settings as the default settings, or click Cancel to close the dialogbox without saving the settings as the default settings.Configuring the Sonar Parameter SettingsThe sonar parameter settings should be verified or reconfigured asnecessary. There are three sonar parameter settings: range, separate portand starboard receiver gains, and separate port and starboard power on andoff settings.
