Information is written to the“accident” log any time the vehicle exceeds the unit’s setdeceleration limit. The information in the accident log may bedownloaded, viewed, printed, and stored using the DriveRightVehicle Management Software.NOTE: The unit always keeps the last 20 seconds of vehicle speed inmemory. This information may be viewed using the softwarealso.Tamper ProtectionThe Trip 500AL will alert you if anyone attempts to tamper withthe unit, provided that you have entered a security code otherthan 0000. If someone disconnects power from the unit, if anincorrect code is entered five times, or if the unit is rebooted,the word “TAMPER” appears on all screens and the time atwhich the tamper attempt occurred is stored. The last 10tamper times may be downloaded, viewed and printed, usingthe DriveRight Vehicle Management Software.To clear the flashing TAMPER segment, enter the correct secu-rity code (see “Security Code Screen” on page 22).
