23GRILL BURNER:Remove the grill grates, then lift out the grill radiant tray. Grasp the burner, pull it up and slightly to therear of the unit so the burner head comes off the brass orifice at the front, angle the burner sideways,and remove.Grill burner cleaning:Clean the exterior of the burner with a wire brush. Clearstubborn scale with a metal scraper. Clear any clogged portswith a straightened paper clip. Never use a wooden toothpickas it may break off and clog the port. Shake out any debristhrough the air shutter. Use a flashlight to inspect the burnerinlet to ensure it is not blocked. If obstructions can be seen,use a metal wire coat hanger that has been straightened out.ORIFICE CLEANING:With the burner removed, remove the orifice and shine a flashlight through the opening to ensurethere is no blockage. Use a needle to clear any debris. Be extremely careful not to enlarge the hole orbreak off the needle. See Fig. 35.WARNING:IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TOCENTER THE BURNER ON THEORIFICE PROPERLY TO PREVENT AFIRE HAZARD OR EXPLOSTION.Be careful not to upset the air shutters’ original position (unless readjusting). Lower the rear of theburner into the cutouts on the support channel at the rear of the burner box. Make sure it is level anddoes not rock. Light all of the burners and check for proper flame characteristics. If adjustments arenecessary, refer to (page 14).
