SiBE28-805 Symptom-based TroubleshootingTroubleshooting 1211. Symptom-based TroubleshootingSymptom Supposed Cause Countermeasure1 The system does not start operation at all. Blowout of fuse(s) Turn Off the power supply andthen replace the fuse(s).Cutout of breaker(s) • If the knob of any breaker is inits OFF position, turn ON thepower supply.• If the knob of any circuitbreaker is in its tripped position,do not turn ON the powersupply.Power failure After the power failure is reset, restart the system.2 The system starts operation but makes animmediate stop. Blocked air inlet or outlet of indooror outdoor unit Remove obstacle(s).Clogged air filter(s) Clean the air filter(s).3 The system does not cool or heat air well. Blocked air inlet or outlet of indooror outdoor unit Remove obstacle(s).Clogged air filter(s) Clean the air filter(s).Enclosed outdoor unit(s) Remove the enclosure.Improper set temperature Set the temperature to a properdegree.Airflow rate set to "LOW" Set it to a proper airflow rate.Improper direction of air diffusion Set it to a proper direction.Open window(s) or door(s) Shut it tightly.[In cooling] Direct sunlight received Hang curtains or shades onwindows.[In cooling] Too many persons staying in aroom[In cooling] Too many heat sources (e.g. OAequipment) located in a room4 The system doesnot operate. The system stops andimmediately restarts operation. If the OPERATION lamp on theremote controller turns ON, thesystem will be normal. Thesesymptoms indicate that thesystem is controlled so as not toput unreasonable loads on thesystem.Normal operation. The system willautomatically start operation aftera lapse of five minutes.Pressing the TEMP ADJUSTbutton immediately resets thesystem. The remote controller displays"UNDER CENTRALIZEDCONTROL", which blinks for aperiod of several secondswhen the OPERATION buttonis depressed. The system is controlled withcentralized controller. Blinkingdisplay indicates that the systemcannot be operated using theremote controller.Operate the system using theCOOL/HEAT centralized remotecontroller. The system stops immediatelyafter turning ON the powersupply. The system is in preparationmode of micro computeroperation.Wait for a period of approximatelyone minute.5 The systemmakesintermittentstops. The remote controller displaysmalfunction codes "U4" and"U5", and the system stops butrestarts after a lapse of severalminutes. The system stops due to aninterruption in communicationbetween units caused byelectrical noises coming fromequipment other than airconditioners.Remove causes of electricalnoises. If these causes are removed, thesystem will automatically restartoperation.6 COOL-HEATselection isdisabled. The remote controller displays"UNDER CENTRALIZEDCONTROL".This remote controller has nooption to select cooling operation. Use a remote controller withoption to select cooling operation. The remote controller displays"UNDER CENTRALIZEDCONTROL", and the COOL-HEAT selection remotecontroller is provided.COOL-HEAT selection is madeusing the COOL-HEAT selectionremote controller.Use the COOL-HEAT selectionremote controller to select cool orheat.ONOFFKnobTrippedCircuit breaker
