Installation manual20 EKHBH/X030BAIndoor unit for air to water heat pump system4PW62568-1 – 07.2010Power input selection to transformer TR2This selection is needed to ensure a stable 24 V AC output.Procedure1 Measure main input power.2 Reconnect wire according to the result of measurement.Connection to a benefit kWh rate power supplyElectricity companies throughout the world work hard to providereliable electric service at competitive prices and are often authorizedto bill clients at benefit rates. E.g. time-of-use rates, seasonal rates,Wärmepumpentarif in Germany and Austria, ...This equipment allows for connection to such benefit rate powersupply delivery systems.Consult with the electricity company acting as provider at the sitewhere this equipment is to be installed to know whether it isappropriate to connect the equipment in one of the benefit kWh ratepower supply delivery systems available, if any. When the equipment is connected to such benefit kWh rate powersupply, the electricity company is allowed to:■ interrupt power supply to the equipment for certain periods oftime;■ demand that the equipment only consumes a limited amount ofelectricity during certain periods of time. The indoor unit is designed to receive an input signal by which theunit switches into forced off mode. At that moment, the outdoor unitcompressor will not operate.DANGERSwitch off all relevant power supply (outdoor unit, backupheater, booster heater) before changing the connector.187~208 V AC209~228 V AC229~253 V ACX8M321CAUTIONFor a benefit kWh rate power supply like illustratedbelow as type 1■ If the benefit kWh rate power supply is of the type thatpower supply is not interrupted, then control of theheaters is still possible. For the different possibilities of controlling heaters atmoments that benefit kWh rate is active, refer to"[D] Benefit kWh rate power supply/Local shift valueweather dependent" on page 33.If heaters must be controlled at moments that thebenefit kWh rate power supply is off, then theseheaters shall be connected to a separate powersupply.■ During the period that the benefit kWh rate is activeand power supply is continuous, then stand-by powerconsumption is possible (PCB, controller, pump, ...).For a benefit kWh rate power supply like illustratedbelow as types 2 or 3If during benefit kWh rate power supply the power supply isshut off, then heaters can not be controlled.■ This power supply interruption should not be longerthan 2 hours, otherwise the real time clock of thecontroller will be reset.■ During power supply interruption, the controllerdisplay will be blank.
