Installer reference guide21 EHBH/X16Daikin Altherma - Low Temperature Split4P313776-1 – 2012.056 Preparation6.2.4 Changing the pre-pressure of the expansionvesselWhen changing the default pre-pressure of the expansion vessel(1 bar) is required, take following guidelines into account:Q Only use dry nitrogen to set the expansion vessel pre-pressure.Q Inappropriate setting of the expansion vessel pre-pressure willlead to malfunction of the system.Changing the pre-pressure of the expansion vessel should be doneby releasing or increasing nitrogen pressure through the schrädervalve of the expansion vessel.6.2.5 To check the water volume: ExamplesExample 1The indoor unit is installed 5 m below the highest point in the watercircuit. The total water volume in the water circuit is 100 l.No actions or adjustments are required.Example 2The indoor unit is installed at the highest point in the water circuit. The total water volume in the water circuit is 350 l.Actions:Q Because the total water volume (350 l) is more than the defaultwater volume (280 l), the pre-pressure must be decreased.Q The required pre-pressure is:Pg = (0.3+(H/10)) bar = (0.3+(0/10)) bar=0.3 bar.Q The corresponding maximum water volume at 0.3 bar is 410 l.(See the graph in the chapter above).Q Because 350 l is lower than 410 l, the expansion vessel isappropriate for the installation.6.3 Preparing electrical wiring6.3.1 About preparing electrical wiring6.3.2 About preferential kWh rate power supplyElectricity companies throughout the world work hard to providereliable electric service at competitive prices and are often authorizedto bill clients at benefit rates. E.g. time-of-use rates, seasonal rates,Wärmepumpentarif in Germany and Austria, ...This equipment allows for connection to such preferential kWh ratepower supply delivery systems.Consult with the electricity company acting as provider at the sitewhere this equipment is to be installed to know whether it isappropriate to connect the equipment in one of the preferential kWhrate power supply delivery systems available, if any. When the equipment is connected to such preferential kWh ratepower supply, the electricity company is allowed to:Q interrupt power supply to the equipment for certain periods oftime;Q demand that the equipment only consumes a limited amount ofelectricity during certain periods of time. The indoor unit is designed to receive an input signal by which theunit switches into forced off mode. At that moment, the outdoor unitcompressor will not operate.Whether the power supply is interrupted or not, the wiring to the unitis different.NOTICEOnly a licensed installer may adjust the pre-pressure of theexpansion vessel.a Schräder valveaWARNINGQ If the power supply has a missing or wrong N-phase,equipment will break down.Q Establish proper earthing. Do NOT earth the unit to autility pipe, surge absorber, or telephone earth.Incomplete earthing may cause electrical shock.Q Install the required fuses or circuit breakers.Q Secure the electrical wiring with cable ties so that thecables do NOT come in contact with the piping orsharp edges, particularly on the high-pressure sideQ Do NOT use taped wires, stranded conductor wires, extension cords, or connections from a star system. They can cause overheating, electrical shock or fire.Q Do NOT install a phase advancing capacitor, becausethis unit is equipped with an inverter. A phaseadvancing capacitor will reduce performance and maycause accidents.WARNINGQ All wiring must be performed by an authorizedelectrician and must comply with the applicablelegislation.Q Make electrical connections to the fixed wiring.Q All components procured on the site and all electricalconstruction must comply with the applicablelegislation.WARNINGThe backup heater should have a dedicated power supply.
