Indicates a potentially hazard-ous situation which, if not avoid-ed, may result in minor or mod-erate injury. It may also be usedto alert against unsafe practices.NOTE................ Indicates situations that mayresult in equipment or proper-ty-damage accidents only.DANGERDo not install the unit in an area where flam-•mable materials are present due to risk ofexplosion resulting in serious injury or death.Any abnormalities in the operation of the air•conditioner or heat pump such as smoke orfi re, could result in severe injury or death.Turn off the power and contact your dealerimmediately.Refrigerant gas may produce toxic gas if it•come in contact with fire, such as from a fan,heater, stove, or cooking device. Exposure tothis gas could cause severe injury or death.Consult your local dealer regarding modifica-•tion, repair and maintenance of the air condi-tioner.Improper workmanship may result in waterleakage, electric shocks or fire hazards.For refrigerant leakage, consult your dealer.•Refrigerant gas is heavier than air and re-places oxygen. A massive leak could lead tooxygen depletion, especially in basements,and an asphyxiation hazard could occur lead-ing to serious injury or death.If equipment utilizing a burner is used in the•same room as the air conditioner or heatpump, there is the danger of oxygen deficien-cy which could lead to an asphyxiation haz-ard resulting in serious injury or death. Besure to ventilate the room sufficiently toavoid this hazard.Safely dispose of the packing materials.•Packing materials, such as nails and othermetal or wooden parts, may cause stabs orother injuries.Tear apart and throw away plastic packaging•bags so that children will not play with them.Children playing with plastic bags face thedanger of death by suffocation.Do not install the air conditioner at any place•where there is a danger of flammable gasleakage.In the event of a gas leakage, build-up of gasnear the air conditioner may result in fire haz-ards.WARNINGContact your dealer for repair and mainte-•nance. Improper repair and maintenance mayresult in water leakage, electric shock, andfi re. Only use accessories made by Daikinthat are specifically designed for use with theequipment and have them installed by a pro-fessional.Contact your dealer to move and reinstall the•air conditioner or heat pump. Incompleteinstallation may result in water leakage, elec-tric shock, and fire.Never let the indoor unit or the remote con-•troller get wet. Water can cause an electricshock or a fire.Never use flammable spray such as hair•spray, lacquer, or paint near the unit. Flam-mable spray may cause a fire.When a fuse blows out, never replace it with•one of incorrect ampere ratings or differentwires. Always replace any blown fuse with afuse of the same specification.Never remove the fan guard of the unit. A fan•rotating at high speed without the fan guardis very dangerous.Never inspect or service the unit by yourself.•Contact a qualified service person to performthis work.
