A blocked heat exchanger can lead to too lowpressure or too high pressure leading to worse performance.11 Troubleshooting11.1 Overview: TroubleshootingThis chapter describes what you have to do in case of problems.It contains information about solving problems based on symptoms.Before troubleshootingCarry out a thorough visual inspection of the unit and look forobvious defects such as loose connections or defective wiring.11.2 Precautions when troubleshootingWARNING▪ When carrying out an inspection on the switch box ofthe unit, ALWAYS make sure that the unit isdisconnected from the mains. Turn off the respectivecircuit breaker.▪ When a safety device was activated, stop the unit andfind out why the safety device was activated beforeresetting it. NEVER shunt safety devices or changetheir values to a value other than the factory defaultsetting. All fanspeeds will become availablewhen outdoor ambienttemperature rises again.11.3.7 Symptom: Unit goes to defrost operationeven when the heat exchanger is notfrozenPossible causes Corrective actionIt is normal behaviour related toreliability of the system.In case the piping length is<30 m and the level differencebetween the indoor and theoutdoor unit is <20 m, you canturn off this function by cuttingthe jumper J6 on the outdoor unitPCB. The main power supplyMUST be turned off when cuttingthe jumper.11.4 Fault diagnosis using LED onoutdoor unit PCBLED is… Diagnosisflashing Normal.▪ Check the indoor unit.ON ▪ Turn the power OFF and back ON, andcheck the LED within approximately 3minutes.If the LED is ON again, the outdoor unitPCB is faulty.
