8 SR200 & SR300 Printer User GuideLoad SuppliesLoad cardsThe card hopper can hold up to 100, .030” (.75mm) cards. The cards areheld in position with a hopper cover. Make sure that magnetic stripe or smartcards are loaded in the proper orientation for processing.1 Slide the card hopper latch open (1).2 Slide the card cover up (2).3 Insert cards. See the illustrations for the correctcard orientation.— For SR200 (single-side) printers, the top oflandscape-oriented cards is away from theprinter and the front of the card is down.— For SR300 (duplex) printers:— Load ISO-1 magnetic stripe cards withthe stripe up and toward you.— For most applications, load contact chipcards with the chip down and towardthe back of the printer.— For custom applications, the card loadorientation may be different.4 Slide the hopper cover over the cards (4).5 Slide the card hopper latchclosed (5).Tips: Handling cards• Do not touch thesurface of cards beforeprinting them. (Oils onhands will reduceprinting quality.)• Handle cards by theedges or wear suppliedcotton gloves.• Cards can sticktogether. Slide or fancards to separate theedges.• Orient all cards thesame way.• Load about 100 cardsat the most.• Do not use cards thatare bent or otherwisedamaged.• See “Supplies” onpage 67 for specificcard information.
