CodabarProduct Reference Guide 241Codabar — cont.Codabar Set Length 2This feature specifies one of the barcode lengths for Codabar Length Control. Length 2 is themaximum label length if in Variable Length Mode, or the second fixed length if in Fixed LengthMode. The length includes the barcode’s start, stop, check and data characters. The length mustinclude at least one data character.The length can be set from 3 to 50 characters. A setting of 0 specifies to ignore this length (onlyone fixed length).Follow these instructions to set this feature:1. Determine the desired character length (from 3 to 50 — or 0 to ignore this length). Padthe number with leading zeroes to yield two digits. For example: 0 = 00, 5 = 05, 20 = 20,etc.2. Scan the ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE barcode to enter ProgrammingMode.3. Scan the barcode: SELECT CODABAR LENGTH 2 SETTING.4. Scan the appropriate two digits from the keypad in Appendix E, Keypad, that represent thelength setting which was determined in the steps above. You will hear a two-beep indica-tion after the last character.NOTE5. Scan the ENTER/EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE barcode to exit ProgrammingMode.This completes the procedure.
