19GBironed and wait for the “iron at temperature”light to go off.MAINTENANCELimescale filter maintenanceWhen the FILTER light comes on, the filter mustbe regenerated or replaced.To regenerate the filter, proceed as follows:• Turn the appliance off by pressing theand buttons or the button (depen-ding on the model), then unplug from themains.• Remove the water tank.• Remove the limescale filter.• Place the resin filter in the filter holder J (fig.11). (You are recommended to do this overthe kitchen sink).• Attach the tank to the resin filter.• Dissolve the contents of the sachet of citricacid supplied (K) in a 1 litre jug of tap wa-ter.• Pour the resulting solution into the tankand allow all the contents to pass throughthe filter (about 20 minutes), then wait fora minimum of 40 minutes to regenerate thelimescale filter.• To rinse the limescale filter, fill the water tankwith tap water and allow all the contents topass through the filter.• When the operation is completed, put thefilter and tank back in place.• Plug the appliance into the mains and turnon.• Press the RESET button to confirm the ef-ficiency of the filter. The FILTER light goesoff.• The appliance is ready for use.Please note:Regenerating the resin filter guarantees its long-term efficiency. However, after 10 regenerations(max. 5 years of use), it should be replaced.Sachets of citric acid and the limescale filter areavailable from authorised customer services.Rinsing the steam generatorTo optimise operation, maintain constant ste-am production over time and save energy,rinse the steam generator with water after eve-ry 10 ironing sessions. Proceed as follows:• Make sure the appliance is turned off, un-plugged from the mains and completelycold.• Turn the protective cap F on the side of theappliance clockwise and remove it (fig. 12).• Use a coin or screwdriver to unscrew thesteam generator cap (fig. 12).• Rest the appliance on its side (fig. 13) and fillwith a maximum of 0.7 litres of water usinga funnel to avoid the water spilling outsidethe steam generator.• Shake the appliance to rinse the entire steamgenerator, then throw the water away.• Repeat the rinse procedure.• Screw the cap back on, making sure it clo-ses the steam generator efficiently.• Replace the protective cap F.Before resuming ironing, discharge steaminto the air for a few seconds to completelyeliminate any residues from the internal cir-cuits.Important!If the filter cannot be regenerated or replaced, tocontinue using the appliance with the exhaustedfilter, proceed as follows:• Use a coin to turn the water hardness regu-lator L to the position corresponding to veryhard water (irrespective of the results obtai-ned using the indicator paper).• When the FILTER light comes on, rinse thesteam generator as described above.• After rinsing, press the RESET button.The frequent rinsing will avoid limescale buildingup in the steam generator.CLEANING• The surface of the plate must be kept clean.To clean, just wipe the cold surface with adamp cloth.• The iron must never be treated with desca-ling products.AFTER IRONINGAfter finishing ironing, you should put the iro-ning system away with the door tightly closedto avoid dust and foreign bodies falling into thetank and possibly jeopardising operation of thepump.
