20Place the iron on the iron rest (in the securedposition for models with domestic iron) and waitfor the system to cool down before putting itaway.To put the appliance away tidily, fix the steam/ca-ble tube to the hook F and wind the power cablearound the cable tidy H (fig. 14).Store the iron in a dry place.Please note:• To ensure efficient operation of the applian-ce, the limescale filter must not be removedexcept for regeneration.• After ironing, the water remaining in the tankneed not be drained. However, the applianceshould be drained of water if left unused forlong periods.IRONING TIPS• The original appearance and softness of fa-brics such as velvet or wool, or gloves, bagsetc. can be restored by passing the iron ashort distance away with the steam jet inoperation.• Do not rest or use the iron on zips, hooks,rings etc to avoid scratching the sole plate.• Separate clothes according to the recom-mended ironing temperature and begin iro-ning with items requiring the lowest tempe-ratures.• Silk may be dry-pressed on the reverse.• Wool, cotton and fine linen can either besteam-ironed on the reverse or on the rightside, interposing a thin cloth between theiron and the fabric to avoid “shine”.• Starched fabrics require greater moisture.• Iron whites and light colours on the rightside and dark colours on the reverse.
