If the staples are not clinching properly the Clincher Points (7257B, 7024B) will need to be adjustedwithin the Clincher Plate (7253A). To check this, cycle the machine manually and stop the machine atthe point of clincher activation. If the Points are positioned too high or too low, refer to the instructionswhich follow and Figure 12 for an explanation. Loosen and remove the two (2) Screws (UA3806.16)Adjusting the Clinchers (Figure 12)Always disconnect the power supply beforemaking any adjustments or servicing the stitcher.WARNING!If the staple legs are centered butare too long or too short, adjust theamount of wire feed as follows: Firsttap the Wire Grip Holder Assembly(7133A) out of the way. Loosen(do not remove) the two (2) Screws(7219) on the Upper Adjuster Rack, then loosen (do not remove) the two(2) Wire Feed Adjusting Rack Screws(UA4108.1) on the Lower AdjusterRack (G30090) to allow the Rack tobe moved up or down. If longer staplelegs are required, move the Rack downslightly. If shorter staple legs arerequired, move the Rack up slightly.Tighten the Adjustment Screws andtrip the machine to allow enough wireto feed through the head to reflect theadjustment. Check the stitches again.Repeat the steps above as needed untilthe staple legs are the correct length forthe work being stitched.Be careful not to force the Wire FeedAdjusting Pinion (7114) in betweenthe lower Adjuster Rack and the upperAdjuster Rack (G30091), behind theFace Plate Latch Mount (G30123) as itcould strip the teeth off the Pinion.Note: The upper Adjuster Rack should be forced flush with the back ofthe stitcher Frame to ensure uniform movement after tighteningAdjusting Both Legs (Figure 11)17Figure 11 - Adjusting Both LegsG30123uA4108.1 (2)G30090shorterlegslongerlegs
