Page 6•The following items must NOT be placedin the Dryer as they pose a fire risk:• Chemically impregnated fabrics such asmops or cleaning cloths saturated withwax or inflammable solvents.• Rubber backed articles, rubber boots, andtennis shoes.• Clothes fitted with foam rubber pads.• Garments treated with dry-cleaning fluidor a combustible solution.• Durable pleated items other thanpermanent press.• Fibre-glass or leather items.• Cushions, quilts and similar stuffed itemsas these accumulate heat.• Gas lighters that have accidentally beenleft in pockets.Loading• Do not overload the machine. Werecommend loading the drum to thehalfway mark.• Do not place dripping wet articles in thedryer. As much water as possible shouldbe extracted before placing them in thedrum.• Clothes should not be loaded in a tangledcondition as this will prolong the dryingtime.• Mix small and large articles for fasterdrying time. Shake out each article formore even drying.• It is recommended that synthetic whitesand coloured articles are not mixed untiltheir colour fastness has beenestablished.• Add a few hand towels to act as bufferswhen drying a very small load.• Large items tend to retain a certainposition in the drum. To ensure thoroughdrying it may be necessary to removethese articles midway during the dryingcycle and reposition them beforecontinuing.• Bulky duvets and eiderdowns may not besuitable even if the dry weight of the itemis within the prescribed limits. Their sizemay prevent them from tumbling.Advice column3Cotton T-shirts and Knit underwear• Dry only to a slightly damp stage. If thesearticles are allowed to tumble too long, theknitted cotton may shrink. This may becorrected by re-dampening or by wearingthe article.Curtains and slip covers• Remove from the dryer while slightlydamp.• Iron and hang immediately.Chenille and candlewick bedspreads• Dry only one bedspread at a time.• Remove as much moisture as possiblebefore placing the bedspread in the dryer.• Dry completely.Lingerie• Use the Delicate programme.• Remove soon after drying to minimizecreasing.• To avoid tangling, it is recommended thatnylon stockings are enclosed in a nylonmesh bag during drying.Knitted synthetics• Use a dry towel as a buffer, rubbingsurfaces may cause small beads to form,(Turn these articles inside out).Corduroy• Turn inside out.• Remove while still damp and re-shape.Silks, Dacrons and nylons• Place in the dryer separately.• Do not over-dry.Recommended loading level
