CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY CONT.4. Battery performance is based on the output at the batteryterminals. Therefore, the shortest electrical connectionbetween the battery system and the operating equipmentresults in maximum total system performance.Select cable size based on current carrying capability andvoltage drop.Cable size should not provide a greater voltage drop betweenthe battery system and operating equipment than specified.Excessive voltage drop in cables will reduce the desiredreserve time and power from the battery system.SAFETY SHIELD ASSEMBLY1. All Safety Shield Brackets should already be installed atthis time. Refer to Cell Installation Section for bracketinstallation.2. Safety Shields are designed with a “keyhole” typeattachment.3. One shield will cover one module or two tiers. Starting withthe bottom module, hang the first shield on the top bracketsthrough the large part of the keyhole. At the same timealigning the cutout at the bottom of the shield with thesecond set of brackets. After all shields are in place tighten, but do not torque hardware.Top Protection Shield InstallationFor side terminal assembly, attach top protective cover tohighest front shield.14BottomOverlapTop
