1162. Using a Network-Connected MachineUseful network programsThere are several programs available to setup the network settings easily in anetwork environment. For the network administrator especially, managingseveral machines on the network is possible.Before using the programs below, set the IP address first.1Embedded Web ServiceThe web server embedded on your network machine allows you to do thefollowing tasks (see "Using Embedded Web Service" on page 186).• Check the supplies information and status.• Customize machine settings.• Set the email notification option. When you set this option, the machinestatus (toner cartridge shortage or machine error) will be sent to a certainperson's email automatically.• Configure the network parameters necessary for the machine to connect tovarious network environments.2SetIP wired network setupThis utility program allows you to select a network interface and manuallyconfigure the IP addresses for use with the TCP/IP protocol.• See "IPv4 configuration using SetIP (Windows)" on page 117.• See "IPv4 configuration using SetIP (Macintosh)" on page 118.• See "IPv4 configuration using SetIP (Linux)" on page 119.• The machine that does not support the network interface, it will not beable to use this feature (see "Rear view" on page 17).• TCP/IPv6 is not supported by this program.
